All about Albert

The Royal Albert Hall was envisaged by Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s consort.

Sadly he died, in 1861, before it was completed.

The grieving Victoria commissioned the adjacent Albert Memorial in his memory.

Both were completed in the early 1870’s and, although of very different and extravagant styles, compliment each other perfectly.
