This was the scene earlier this month for the London Olympic 2012 Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon Test Event, with the National Maritime Museum and Canary Wharf beyond.

It at least gives you an idea of how things will look in 365 days time!

While the main site is still difficult to access and not so pretty due to ongoing construction, we’re getting an idea of how everything will look once finished.

As one of a pair of luxury yachts at the quay, they stood out as the only vessels in sight.

But does the Champagne really taste better aboard one of these, rather than out of a plastic mug in a rowing boat? I think we all know the answer to that!

It was a wonderful day, with a great atmosphere and happy crowds from the UK and further afield.

Here is a variation of the much maligned (and much enjoyed!) Full English Breakfast.

I’m happy to say, I did manage to eat most of it, washed down with that mug of tea!

So should I add this image to my London Prints website, or is food better in the stomach, rather than on the wall?

Of course, this will be a dull show in comparison to the decorations for the Royal Wedding of Kate and William, taking place in just five weeks, on the 29th April 2011.

One of the classic views of London… clear sky at sunset. Even more stunning at the beginning of Spring, after the dark days of Winter.

St. Paul’s Cathedral, on the left, is probably the oldest building in the photograph. Looking to the right, the first of the tallest buildings is the almost complete Heron Tower. To the top of its spire, it is now the tallest building in London, with its top 46th floor at 173m and the tip of the spire at 242m.

It’s going to be an exciting few years, with more tall buildings going up. The Shard over London Bridge Station is already being built and will be about 100m taller than the Heron Tower at the roof level.
